LIGHTBOX – Kelly Hieronymus W.

May 23, 2019

We are delighted to welcome Kelly Hieronymus W., our newest Lightbox artist! Walk, bike, or drive by 312 S Neil St (corner of Springfield & Neil) to see her colorful installation in person. Kelly used acrylic paint and electrical tape on foam board insulation in her piece, Page No.67.

Here is more about the installation in Kelly’s own words.

This piece is not only a departure from my two-dimensional work but a departure from the landscapes I have been doing in the past. Although it still draws inspiration from the ground, this series of work (Page No.) is inspired by my own daydreams of the gardens I want to plant. These gardens delineate the change I want to see in my life, the changes that are already happening and the changes that are out of my control. Not only am I exploring a new way of thinking, my heart and mind continue to find beauty in the daily paths we forge through life.

About LIGHTBOX: We wanted to repurpose our southern front window creatively, and in 2015 we decided to launch a community gallery space. It’s not meant to showcase paintings, but rather provides a space for artists to create an original installation using the LIGHTBOX space. The art installations rotate every three months.
